Methods to Convert MSG to OLM File Formats
There are two methods using which a user can convert Outlook message files to Outlook for Mac. The first method is divided into two steps whereas the second method is a direct solution.
Method 1: Manual Approach
This method is divided into two steps. The user first have to convert MSG file to PST then he/she have to import that PST file into Outlook for Mac
Step 1: Convert MSG file to PST – Drag and Drop Method
- First, you have to open Microsoft Outlook on your local machine
- Now, create a new folder in Outlook
- After that, you have to select the MSG file and then just drag and drop those MSG files into the new folder
Now, your MSG files are converted into PST file type. After this, copy the PST files in a pen drive so that you can move those PST files in Outlook for Mac. Connect your pen drive to Apple machine and then copy and paste PST files to the desired location like Desktop.
Step 2: Import the PST file into Outlook for Mac
- First, you have to open Outlook for Mac on your Apple machine
- Now, click on the File menu and click on the Import option
- After that, you will see an Import dialog box with three options that are:
- Outlook for Windows Archive file (.pst)
- Outlook for Mac Archive file (.olm)
- Outlook 2011 Data on this computer
- You have to select Outlook for Windows archive file (.pst) and then click on Continue button
- Now, locate the PST file, which you copy and pasted from pen drive on your desktop. Select that file and click on the Import option
- After the completion of the import process click on the Finish button
- All your files are imported into PST file format on Outlook for Mac.
Method 2: Direct Method – MSG to OLM File Converter
But after applying this method, I noticed that some of my PST message files were missing. The situation became worse for me as I faced data loss issues.
